Oma Ten Eyck’s Koekjes

The cookies that bring even Johnson’s Rangers to their knees!

Early New Netherland (New York) Dutch baking was so good that it caused significant inflation of grain prices in the mid-1600s. So, the Fort Orange city council tried to make it illegal for Dutch bakers to sell baked goods to Native Americans and non-Dutch settlers. It did not go well.

Withholding delectable koekjes from an addicted fan base just makes them more determined to regain their access. Just ask the Ten Eyck cousins and the rest of Johnson’s Rangers! Because nobody in the Mohawk Valley goes to war without being fortified by Oma Ten Eyck’s baking.
